The Man Who Would Be King

Quiet on set. Cue sound. Cameras up.... action Spitzer. Hollywood couldn't have scripted this demise of villainous character who wall street loved to hate. Eliot Spitzer, the former Attorney General of New York who was aptly known as the Sheriff of Wall Street was brought down last week by a 4,300 dollar hooker. Awaiting his charges from the U.S attorney, Spitzer will formally step down as Governor of New York today. I have followed Elliot Spitzer's career ever since his name started to pop up on the wire services. This was very disappointing, like many people who read the New York Time's online report, i thought it was a joke. I couldn't fathom that a man of Spitzer's stature would resort to such stupidity. But then again my father always told me that when it comes to sex, "there's not one human being who doesn't want to have it"

To me the whole fiasco is a little sketchy. The federal government rarely prosecutes prostitution, nor do they set up a task force that will cost millions of dollars of tax payer money to investigate a prostitution ring that doesn't even pass the million dollar threshold. I get the whole money laundering angle, but still, i don't see this as a priority for them. Now I'm not one to start the spewing the right-wing conspiracy theories but it's worth looking into.

Elliot Spitzer is someone i believe would have made it all the way to the White House. He was very ambitious, and his crusader message would have taken him all the way. Yet his political career was cut short. There is not much to say other than he got caught. I find it hilarious to see the major news networks spending hours with analysts, experts to better explain the situation. What's there to analyze? The man wanted pussy. He set out to pay for it and he got caught. End of story.
